Microsoft’s Oculus Rift Presents a Virtual World

Posted by Alexandra Plummer on

The Oculus Rift headset is set to be released in 2016 and has already caught the attention of gamers and computers users, because of its promised virtual reality. The Oculus Rift headset is a gaming accessory that should allow gamers to hear and view the game being played. There are high expectations for this device as Microsoft partnered with Facebook for its implementation. With both Windows 10 and Xbox One’s support of the device, Microsoft has high hopes for the device for the future of gaming technology.

Microsoft’s high hopes may not match the public’s expectations. Although Oculus Rift is expected to completely change the gaming and computer experience, there are a few concerns. Is this device something new and out of reach for the average game user? Microsoft doesn’t think so seems to think so. Oculus Rift can also be used to view webpages and various types of media, virtually. However, new technologies have always proven to be adapted with much contention, especially when the “old” way of doing something works just fine. Gamers and computer users may not want to stray too far from the familiar.

The price of The Oculus Rift headset will draw more attention when it releases in the first quarter of 2016, helping people decide if the device is worth purchasing. Regardless of its guarantees, it will definitely make waves in the technological sphere, changing the dynamics of first-person games, media viewing and computer roaming.
